Ring launched new smart sensors at CES 2026. These sensors utilize Amazon Sidewalk, a shared wireless network. The launch enables continuous protection without the need for Wi-Fi, hubs, or base stations.
Ring’s new smart sensors debut at CES 2026, leveraging Amazon Sidewalk for seamless, hub-free protection without Wi-Fi or base stations.
The announcement includes a revamped suite of home sensors. These devices were introduced alongside AI enhancements and app updates.
The new sensors detect motion, door and window openings, and glass breakage. They also monitor for smoke, carbon monoxide, leaks, and temperature changes.
Additional features include tracking air quality, flood, freeze, and humidity levels. The lineup also includes a sump pump sensor and a panic button. These cover security, safety, and environmental hazards.
Amazon Sidewalk is a shared low-power, long-range IoT community network launched in 2020. It uses bandwidth from compatible Amazon devices to act as bridges. The network covers approximately 95% of the country.
It maintains connectivity during power outages or Wi-Fi downtime. The technology is expanding beyond the US to Canada and Mexico, with plans for the UK, EU, and Australia.
The product lineup includes door and window sensors and glass break sensors. It also features motion detectors and an OBD-II car alarm with GPS.
Other devices include smoke and carbon monoxide sensors, air quality sensors, and flood and freeze sensors. The lineup also offers temperature and humidity sensors, sump pump sensors, smart plugs, switches, fan controls, and remotes.
The Ring Appstore allows users to purchase and integrate third-party apps. These apps cater to both small business operations and home needs.
AI-driven Unusual Event Alerts learn home patterns over time. Active Warnings use computer vision to identify potential threats. The Fire Watch feature in the Neighbors app shares real-time wildfire information.
Sensors are priced between $30 and $70. The OBD-II car alarm is available for pre-order immediately. The remaining sensors will launch in March 2026. Pricing details for the full lineup have not yet been disclosed. No hub is required for operation.
The sensors work with all Alexa and Ring devices. Users can arm their security system directly through the Ring app.
They extend protection from inside the home to the outside and all the way to the property edge. Alerts are coordinated with AI to detect unusual events. Community alerts are supported through the Neighbors app. All sensors can be controlled through Alexa voice commands like other compatible security cameras. Expansion into Canada and Mexico marks a key phase in the global rollout of Sidewalk. This advancement ensures March 2026 launch.
