Can I Connect My Ring Doorbell to Alexa?

If you have a Ring doorbell, you can use the Amazon Echo or other voice-activated devices with Alexa to control your doorbell. You’ll need an Echo device and a Ring account.

Note: If you don’t already have a Ring account, you’ll be prompted to create one when you first set up your Ring doorbell. 

What Can Alexa Do With Ring?

  • You can see videos that were recently recorded with your Ring device.
  • You can ask Alexa to play a video.
  • You can ask Alexa about the last activity from your doorbell.
  • You can ask Alexa who’s at your door.
  • You can ask Alexa how many times someone rang your doorbell.

Connect Ring to Alexa

If you want to use the Ring app, you must download the Amazon Ring app from the App Store or Play Store. 

Step 1: Open Alexa Skills Menu

Alexa Skills Kit lets you build skills that work inside Amazon Echo devices. You can use these skills to control smart home devices, play games, make shopping lists, and much more. Click the hamburger menu item in the upper left corner. 

Step 2: Install the Ring Skill on Alexa

-” Select the “search’ icon in the upper right.”

-” Type in ‘Ring’.” in the search bar. 

-” The Ring skill will show up.”

Step 3: Enable the Ring Skill for Alexa

1. 2. Click “Enable to use” the Ring skill

3. Login to your Amazon Ring account

4. You will see a message saying “You have successfully enabled the Ring skill.”

5. Now you can ask Alexa to do things such as turn off lights, lock doors, set timers, etc.

6. When you say “Alexa, enable the Ring skill”, Alexa will tell you that she is enabling the Ring skill.

Step 4: Authorize to Connect Ring and Alexa

You can link your Amazon Echo device to Ring doorbells.

Step 5: Discover Your Ring Devices on Alexa

1. Go to the Amazon Alexa App.

2. Select the device you want to connect.

3. Tap the button at the bottom of the screen.

4. Follow the instructions.

5. Your Echo Dot should now be ready to use.

How Do You Answer the Doorbell Ring With Alexa?

The Ring Doorbell app lets you control your Ring doorbell via Alexa.

You can ask Alexa to open your door, ring your doorbell, check who is at your door, and view live video from your doorbell.

Using Alexa to control your Ring Doorbell or Security Camera

1. Install the Alexa App on your phone.

2. Add Ring as a Skill.

3. Use your voice to control your Ring devices.

1. Download the Amazon Alexa app on your mobile device.

Test It Out by Saying “Alexa Show the Front Door”

-” To make sure Alexa linked the ring skill, say “Alexa, show the Front door”. You should see your Ring Video Doorbell on your Echo Show.

You’ll have a microphone icon that lets you talk to someone at the door.

 In conclusion, Alexa has become a very useful tool for many homeowners. With her voice commands, she can turn lights on and off, adjust thermostats, lock doors, and even open garage doors. But did you know that you can also use Alexa to ring your doorbell? All you have to do is download the Ring app onto your phone, link it to your Amazon account, and tell Alexa to “Ring my doorbell” whenever you want.
